Storage Options
Triage offers two storage options for your knowledge sources: Managed Storage (default) and Bring Your Own Storage via Fivetran. Choose the option that best fits your organization's data governance and infrastructure requirements.
Managed Storage (Default)
When you add a new knowledge source directly through Triage, your data is stored in Triage's secure managed infrastructure.
Benefits
- Quick setup: Get started in minutes without any infrastructure configuration
- Zero maintenance: Triage handles all storage, scaling, and security
- Enterprise-grade security: Your data is encrypted at rest and in transit
Best for your team if:
- You want the fastest path to value
- You don't have existing data warehouse infrastructure
- You're running a proof-of-concept or evaluation
Bring Your Own Storage (via Fivetran)
If you prefer to maintain full control over your data, you can connect your existing Fivetran account and use your own data warehouse or data lake as the storage layer.
Benefits
- Full data ownership: Data stays in your warehouse, under your control
- Reuse existing infrastructure: Leverage your current Fivetran connectors and warehouse
- Build once, use everywhere: The same tables that power Triage can feed analytics, BI, audits, or other AI workloads
- No vendor lock-in: Data stored in open, standard formats
Best for your team if:
- Organizations with existing Fivetran and warehouse infrastructure
- Teams with strict data residency or governance requirements
- Enterprises wanting to unify AI workloads with existing analytics
How to set up
- Click on the Fivetran icon in the top right corner of the dashboard
- Enter your Fivetran API Key and API Secret in the modal that appears
- Click Connect to establish the connection
Once connected, you can import existing Fivetran connectors directly into Triage. Your data will continue to sync to your warehouse, and Triage will read from it to power AI search and retrieval.
Supported Destinations
Triage currently supports the following Fivetran destinations:
- Snowflake
- BigQuery
- Databricks (coming soon)
- Redshift (coming soon)
- Fivetran MDLS (coming soon)
Switching Between Options
If you started with Managed Storage and later want to use your own warehouse, you can connect your Fivetran account at any time through Settings. New connectors imported from Fivetran will use your storage, while existing managed connectors will continue to work.
Existing knowledge sources cannot be migrated between storage options.
You will need to create new knowledge sources using the desired storage option.
